Kennett Square, PA – April 24, 2025 – For more than 15 years, the Chester County Food Bank (CCFB) has stood alongside Kennett Area Community Service (KACS) as a trusted partner in providing essential support to local families in need. Today, KACS proudly highlights CCFB’s enduring impact and steadfast commitment, especially during a time of increased uncertainty due to recent federal funding cuts.
Each year, CCFB supplies more than 30,000 pounds of healthy, and nutritious food to help stock the shelves of the KACS Food Cupboard every month. This longstanding partnership has enabled KACS to serve hunderds of families across Southern Chester County with dignity and compassion.
In response to the recent cancellation of a USDA food order—a direct result of federal funding reductions—CCFB’s foresight and leadership have once again proven invaluable. Their creation of an emergency food fund, designed specifically for situations like these, has allowed them to seamlessly step in and bridge the gap, ensuring our community doesn’t go without.
“We are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of the Chester County Food Bank,” said Leah Reynolds, Chief Executive Officer of KACS. “Their leadership, innovation, and deep commitment to community well-being give us hope and confidence, no matter what challenges come our way.”
CCFB’s dedication extends far beyond its partnership with KACS. Their reach spans across Chester County, touching the lives of thousands through food security programs, nutritional education, and a collaborative approach to addressing root causes of hunger.
KACS is honored to spotlight Chester County Food Bank as a model of partnership, resilience, and service. Together, we will continue to nourish our neighbors and strengthen our community.
