Our Community

There are many resources available to our Southern Chester County community members. 

Call 2-1-1

Every day, highly trained 2‑1‑1 call specialists provide referrals to:

  • Basic Human Needs Resources: food banks, shelters, rent and utility payment assistance
  • Physical and Mental Health Resources: crisis intervention services, support groups, counseling
  • Employment Support: financial assistance, job training, education programs
  • Support for Older Adults and Persons with Disabilities: home-delivered meals, transportation, health care
  • Youth and Child Care Programs: after school programs, summer camps, mentoring, protection services

Health and Community Services

(previously known as La Comunidad Hispana) offers specialized & primary care to the communities of Southern Chester County.

Public Transportation

Chescobus has two routes in Chester County: SCCOOT, which travels from Oxford to Kennett Square, and the Coatesville Link, which provides service between Coatesville and Parkesburg.

The Garage Youth Center

The Garage Youth Center is an after school and Youth Development program serving Middle and High School Students in Kennett Square and Avondale.

Housing Partnership of Chester County

​The Housing Partnership offers a diverse catalog of programs and services each related to housing and home ownership issues, including financial literacy and credit counseling.

Maternal and Child Health

MCHC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping low-income families with young children access the resources and support that they need to start healthy, stay healthy, and succeed in school.
