Kennett Square, PA — Kennett Area Community Service (KACS) is excited to announce that it has received a generous $70,000 grant from the Foxwynd Foundation to support its new, expanded facility.
The new KACS facility will serve as an anchor institution for building a stronger, more connected community. This expansion will enhance their ability to serve individuals and families in need, providing them with increased opportunities, stability, and resources for growth. By creating a larger space, we are opening doors to a brighter future for those who rely on KACS’s critical services every day.
“Our new facility will not only provide more space for our programs but will also act as an anchor institution for collaboration among non-profit organizations throughout Southern Chester County,” said Leah Reynolds, Chief Executive Officer of KACS. “We are incredibly grateful to the Foxwynd Foundation for their support, which will help us build a stronger foundation for those who are most vulnerable in our community.”
The new building will significantly improve accessibility for those in need, offering essential services in a more convenient location. Key features of the new facility include larger food distribution, much-needed resources for seniors, individuals and families facing unstable housing or homelessness, including free showers and laundry, as well as meeting spaces to accommodate the growing demand for KACS programs. The facility will also provide dedicated parking for clients, staff, and volunteers.
“The Bentley Family and Foxwynd Foundation are proud to support Kennett Area Community Service in its mission to strengthen the community through this new facility. By expanding its capacity, KACS will be able to provide critical resources to individuals and families facing hardship, ensuring greater stability and opportunity for those in need,” said Pamela Villagra, Executive Director of Foxwynd Foundation.
The Foxwynd Foundation’s grant is distributed through a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) and is part of its broader mission to strengthen communities through initiatives that promote financial stability, education, and economic empowerment. This funding represents a crucial investment in the future of Chester County, ensuring that more families will have access to the resources needed to build secure and fulfilling lives.
This donation will support KACS’s Capital Campaign, “Together We Build Hope,” and bring us one step closer to realizing a community where more lives are touched, more families are uplifted, and more neighbors find the support they need to thrive.
