Volunteers

Volunteer shifts are typically 3 hours, Monday through Friday.

All new applicants will be added to our volunteer waitlist. We will contact you to schedule a tour and guide you through any next steps as opportunities become available.

KACS Volunteers:

• Must be 18 years or older

• Able to lift up to 40 pounds

• Required clearances: Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History (PATCH) and PA Child Abuse History

• Completion of an online application and in-person training

• Commitment to the KACS mission

• Please note: we are unable to accommodate volunteers seeking to fulfill a specific number of required service hours

KACS Volunteer opportunities:

Receiving & Sorting Food Donations (Weekdays, 9:00am – 4:00pm)
Log incoming donations, sort items, and stock shelves.

Stocking Shelves For Food Distribution (Weekdays, 9:00am – 12:00pm)
Prepare the KACS Food Cupboard for participant shopping.

Food Distribution Shoppers (Tuesdays 12pm-6pm, Wednesdays 12pm-7pm, Thursdays 12pm-6pm, & Fridays 12pm-2pm)
Assist participants as they shop in the Food Cupboard.

Warehouse (Weekdays 9am-12pm)
Pick up donations, break down deliveries, and organize the warehouse. May include driving KACS vehicles (vans/box trucks; no CDL required).

KACS on Wheels – (Thursday mornings)
Deliver food to area residents.

Community Outreach Representative (As needed)
Represent KACS at community events and assist with donation collection when applicable.
