Our FREE Bridges Out of Poverty workshops bring together community members, employers, professionals, volunteers, and more to start the conversation. Participants will learn about strategies, tools, and resources to help reduce barriers to success for those with lived experience in poverty.

This workshop is FREE but Registration is required.

KACS' 2025 Empty Bowls

The Empty Bowls project is an international grassroots initiative that took root here in Kennett Square over a decade ago and is a collective effort to raise money and awareness in the fight to end hunger and feed hope.

KACS' Empty Bowls event offers three meals:
Lunch 12:00pm
Take-out 3:00pm
Dinner 6:00pm

This is a free, 16-week workshop designed to help adults learn about building resources and relationships in the community, and planning for a better life.

At these Workshops we offer:

KACS "Beacon of Hope" candle

The “Beacon of Hope” candle was created by KACS in collaboration with Candle Studio 1422 to help shine a light on National Homeless Persons' Memorial Day.

Scents of dark amber rosewood, white sage and a hint of lavender come together in each Beacon of Hope candle to make it the perfect purchase for your home, gifts for family and friends, or a housewarming present for new homeowners. With every candle purchased, you support the mission of KACS to eradicate poverty and homelessness.

KACS Annual Meeting - video

The KACS Annual Meeting was free to attend, and open to all partner agencies, funders, participants of KACS services, staff, volunteers, and community members.

The evening's meeting was presented in English and Spanish and included a review of KACS' current activities, plans for the coming year, and an update on the new building project.
