172 households face the barrier of reliable transportation to access healthy, nutritious food. So, each month, the KACS delivery program, with the loving help of many volunteers, brings food to these families.
Efficient, safe, affordable, and accessible transportation systems not only promote economic productivity and create jobs, but can increase access to employment, recreational, and other essential life-shaping opportunities that enable people to improve their living conditions and escape poverty. In southern Chester County, transportation is one of the barriers for people to escape poverty and live well.
KACS programs are designed to “meet people where they’re at” and are the model we use to fulfill KACS’s mission of strengthening our community in southern Chester County through food, housing, crisis services, and education in underserved populations.
